FAQs
Forest Veterinary Clinic FAQs
At Forest Veterinary Clinic, we’re proud to be an independent, community-centred practice offering honest, personal care for pets and their people.
How do I Check In My Nervous Dog When I Arrive At The Clinic?
When you arrive for your pet’s appointment, please stay in your vehicle and give us a call at 01623 623061 to let us know you’re here. This helps reduce stress for nervous or reactive pets and allows our team to prepare for a smooth, calm transition into the clinic.
What should I do if my pet needs care after hours?
For emergencies outside of our regular hours, we partner with Vets Now Chesterfield to provide trusted out-of-hours veterinary care. If they are unavailable, Vets Now Nottingham or Vets Now Derby are alternatives. You can find full contact details and directions on our Out of Hours Care page.
How can I book an appointment?
Booking an appointment is quick and easy. You can schedule directly through our online booking system powered by Vetstoria, or by calling us at 01623 623061. We also welcome follow-up questions via phone if you’re unsure which type of visit your pet needs.
Do you see exotic pets?
Yes, we do! We’re happy to care for exotic pets, including rabbits, guinea pigs, tortoises, birds, and reptiles. Please note that we do not treat livestock or poultry, such as chickens, goats, or sheep.
What kinds of surgeries do you offer?
Our experienced veterinary team provides a wide range of procedures, including neutering, soft tissue surgery (like lump removals and abdominal procedures), and minor orthopaedic work such as pin placement and amputations. Visit our Services page to learn more about what we offer.
Can I find your prices online?
Due to regular updates and changes, we do not currently publish a full price list online. However, we always aim to provide clear, upfront estimates before any treatment or procedure, so you know exactly what to expect. Please contact us for up-to-date pricing.
Will I see the same vet each time I visit?
Most likely, and if at all possible, yes. We’re a small, close-knit team, which means your pet benefits from seeing the same familiar faces. We believe in continuity of care and take the time to build lasting relationships with both pets and their people.
Will I get an estimate before treatment?
We will aim to provide owners with an accurate estimate prior to committing to any treatment plan. Unfortunately, sometimes unforeseen costs do occur, and we will keep you updated. We also try to give worst-case estimates, so sometimes there is even a pleasant surprise and a cheaper bill than expected!
